The benefit here to shooting tight is that it really pulls in and narrows down your background and foreground. That makes it a lot easier to light, and it can make it cleaner looking...

looks great! My only comment would be that it's in a between space kind of, between a tight show and a wide one... 70-200 would have given you a nice crop with the dark red trees as background, and something around 20 might have been cool as well, hard to tell. Light looks great! In a shot like this one I tend to shoot tight so the light is consistent in the frame, ie not much unlit stuff.
